We probably don't need to sell you on the merits of a visit to Las Vegas, but have you considered that it’s a great place to travel with your pet? Not only are there plenty of pet friendly hotels in Las Vegas, but they cater a wide range of needs, tastes and income levels that ensure you won’t have to make any compromises when it comes to your Silver City experience. If you want to put more money toward entertainment than your room and are looking for reliable hotel brands, you will not be disappointed because there are a lot great pet friendly hotel chains in Las Vegas such as La Quinta, Holiday Inn Express, Motel 6, and many more. If a little more pampering is in the cards (get it?) then the upscale Four Seasons Hotel or Platinum (both pet friendly) will be happy to accommodate. Of course, there are also landmark hotels such as the Bellagio with its outdoor water display, casino and nightly Cirque du Soleil productions. Just keep in mind that with heftier room prices, higher pet fees often follow, with the Bellagio charging $125 per night for up to two dogs with a combined weight of less than 40 lbs.

Though the actual city of Las Vegas occupies a small part of the valley, rapid growth has eliminated many of the boundaries between it and surrounding towns so that the whole area is now referred to as Las Vegas. And while most people think of the Strip when they think of Vegas, it is actually made up of a number of neighborhoods, each having its own distinct feel and ambiance including Downtown (where it all started), Summerlin (residential with shops, restaurants and outdoor recreational options), North Las Vegas (home to Nellis Air Force Base and NASCAR’s Las Vegas Motor Speedway), West of the Strip (neighborhood casinos, lower prices, family friendly), among others. You can find pet friendly hotels in all these Las Vegas neighborhoods and can plan your trip according to how close, or far away, you want to be from the hubbub of the Strip.

And, since you’re going to Vegas with your pet and most likely won’t be spending all your time indoors, we can offer a few suggestions for alternate activities. The Historic Railroad Trail, for one, offers beautiful panoramic views of Lake Mead, Fortification Hill, and Boulder Basin. It's an easy hike that is perfect for canine companions (or humans who maybe had a little too much Vegas fun the previous night). You could explore the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the Calico Tanks Trail, or simply saunter up and down The Strip as you please.
