Pet Policy - We welcome guests traveling with their well-behaved pets. We understand that they are an extension of your family. As we consider "furry family members" to be additional guests, a $15 per pet, per night fee will be added to your lodging total. This added fee helps us offset the cost of the extra cleaning we do to ensure that other guests, with allergies, are not adversely affected by your pet's visit.
Guests with Horses: Horse owners are charged a non-refundable $15 fee per horse, per night. This fee is added to your account when checking in. Guests must provide proof of a current health certificate (obtained within 30 days) and a Coggins test (within one year) for each horse. Guests will need to provide for and feed their own horses.
Please use this form to update this pet policy with regard to pet fees, deposits and size restrictions–or if the lodging is no longer pet friendly.
Points of Interest - Our property is in the "Heart of the Black Hills" so we are centrally located to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, and many other Black Hills attractions.
The Newton Fork Creek meanders through the Ranch and is alive with pan-size rainbow trout. If you are ambitious, walk next door and pan for gold at Wade’s Gold Mill, a popular destination for visitors in search of an Old West experience.
Once you catch up on your relaxing, you are ready to enjoy the surrounding area which abounds with recreational pursuits. We are conveniently located next to the George S. Mickelson Trail. One can explore the Black Hills on foot, bicycle, horseback, and in winter, on cross county skis and snowshoes. A gate on the property, installed for the exclusive use of our guests, opens directly onto the Mickelson Trail.
In addition to outdoor activities, Newton Fork Ranch is located one-half mile outside of Hill City, a popular destination for visitors in search of art, crafts and great food. Main Street is alive with art galleries, renowned artists, Black Hills gold jewelers, gift shops, coffee houses, and fine restaurants.
